报告摘要：An established fact with far-reaching implications in the field of submodular maximization is that the validity of the Jensen-type inequality with probability measures is only necessary but not sufficient for DR-submodular functions. This work aims to demonstrate that a characterization of DR-submodular functions can be achieved by allowing signed measures. We prove this result by leveraging the Lyapunov function approach, which holds independent interest as a general method for deriving inequalities.
报告人简介：杜东雷教授现就职加拿大新布朗什维克工商管理学院。从事运筹及管理科学研究。其主要研究兴趣为离散优化，量化投资管理，社会网络分析，供应链管理，选址问题及排序理论。现任多家学术期刊编委会委员，担任多个国际学术会议的学术分委会主席、程序委员会委员、嘉宾和主讲嘉宾。担任加拿大科学与工程基金委员会上会评审专家（2017-2020）。其科研成果发表在诸多国际一流学术期刊上，如Operations Research, European Journal of Operation Research, Omega 等。并多次获得所在学校及学院的奖励，包括University Research Scholar (校级, 2014), University Merit Award (校级, twice, 2006 and 2012), Excellence in Research Award (院级, 2007), and Annual Research Award (院级，2004).
