报告题目：Strong edge coloring of graphs

报告摘要：The strong chromatic index χ's (G) of a graph G is the smallest k such that G has a proper edge k-coloring with the condition that any two edges at distance at most 2 receive distinct colors. A graph is 1-planar if it can be drawn in the plane so that each edge is crossed by at most one other edge. In this talk, we investigate the strong edge coloring of 1-planar graphs and show the following results: (1) If G is a 1-planar graph with maximum degree ∆, then χ's (G) ≤ 14∆; (2) If G is an optimal 1-planar graph, then χ's (G) ≤ 10∆ + 14; (3) If G is an IC-planar graph, then χ's (G) ≤ 6∆ + 10. Our result (1) improves a known result, due to Bensmail et al., which says that every 1-planar graph G satisfies χ's (G) ≤ max{18∆ + 330, 24∆ − 6}.
报告人简介：王艺桥，北京工业大学数学统计学与力学学院教授，博士生导师，主要研究领域是图的结构与图的染色。在J. Graph Theory, SIAM J. Discrere Math., European J. Combin., Discrete Math.等期刊上发表SCI论文80余篇。主持国家自然科学基金优青项目1项、面上项目2项、青年项目1项，参与中韩国际合作与交流项目1项。获教育部自然科学二等奖1项，1篇论文获中国运筹学会“图论组合分会青年论文奖”一等奖。现任中国运筹学会图论组合分会常务理事，中国数学会组合数学与图论专委会委员，中国工业与应用数学会图论组合及应用专委会委员。先后赴法国、德国、美国、加拿大、澳大利亚、香港等国家和地区进行学术交流与访问。
